On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, Edward F. Schultz Jr., a beloved member of the Dunkirk community, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. He was 74 years old and left behind many friends and family members who will dearly miss his presence.
Born on January 5, 1949 in Dunkirk, Edward was the son of the late Edward F. and Mary (Mucha) Schultz Sr. He served his country as a veteran of the US Army from 1970-72 and later retired from General Electric in Erie, PA. In his free time, he was an avid sports fan who enjoyed attending Buffalo Bills and Sabres games with friends and family.
Edward was also a devoted member of several local clubs including the First Ward Falcon Club, Forth Ward Falcons Club, and Kosciuszko Club. Additionally, he was a proud supporter of the Buffalo Bills Backers club. His love for sports brought him great joy and allowed him to connect with others who shared his passion for the game.
Edward is survived by his daughters, a sister and brother-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him as a kind-hearted individual who always put others before himself.
Visitors are welcome to pay their respects to Edward on Sunday from 12-3 PM at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., located at 56 E Doughty Street in Dunkirk. A funeral service will be held on Monday morning at 10 AM at Blessed Mary Angela Church of St. Hyacinth followed by interment at St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery where he will rest forevermore with his long-time companion Jeanne Bialaszewski.
