Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard has been waived from the team, bringing an end to his six-year tenure with the franchise. Colts owner Jim Irsay took to social media to thank Leonard for his contributions to the team and express gratitude for his time in Indianapolis.

Leonard, who was a second-round pick in 2018, had a standout rookie year and was named defensive rookie of the year. He also earned first-team All-Pro recognition during his time with the Colts. However, injuries and decreased playing time led to his release from the team.

Despite leaving Indy, Leonard remains appreciative of the support he received from fans and expressed his love for the city on social media. He will now be looking for a new home as a free agent, with the opportunity to sign a fresh contract elsewhere.
