Medina, Ohio — In celebration of Small Business Saturday on November 25th, the city is coming together to promote local businesses within its community. This event is part of a nationwide movement called “Shop Small Movement,” founded by American Express in 2010, which aims to support small businesses and communities across the country. The day takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday, during the peak of the holiday shopping season.
On this special day, Medina will be hosting a table set up in the Huntington Bank lobby located at 39 Public Square from 11 am onwards. There will be “Shop Small” handouts and information available about Medina’s vibrant small business community. To make it even more exciting, Santa Claus himself will be stopping by Wichert Insurance at 119 N. Court St. from noon to 2 pm to spread some holiday cheer and take photos with children.
Main Street Medina recently released a press release highlighting that over 90% of the storefronts in their business district are filled with local, independent retail shops, boutiques, restaurants and pubs offering a wide range of services. This just goes to show how much importance is placed on supporting local businesses in Medina and its residents can take pride in having such a thriving small business community.
