Returning to its roots: Motorola Edge 50 Ultra features a genuine wood back and top hardware

Motorola has introduced the new Edge 50 line of phones, aimed at both the middle and top class markets. The Edge 50 Ultra, Edge 50 Fusion, and Edge 50 Pro were launched alongside the new Moto Buds Plus headphones. The Edge 50 Ultra features a real wood back option and vegan leather, and comes with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a 6.7-inch Super HD pOLED screen with 144 Hz refresh rate, and up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of memory.

The Edge 50 Ultra also boasts a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens with a 50MP selfie camera. It runs on Android 14 with a HelloUX interface that promises a more assistive user experience. The phone is IP68 resistant and supports 125W wired and 50W wireless charging of the 4500 mAh battery.

The Edge 50 Pro offers similar features but with slightly lower specs and a lower price point. The Edge 50 Fusion is a more budget-friendly option with some compromises in camera quality and battery capacity. Both models are powered by Snapdragon processors and come with varying memory and RAM options.

Overall, Motorola’s new Edge 50 line presents a range of options to cater to different users’ needs and budgets, while still offering high-quality features such as powerful cameras, fast charging capabilities, and sleek design. These phones are set to hit the market in the coming weeks at competitive price points.
