Geater Machining and Manufacturing, located in Buchanan County, has been recognized as the Small Business of the Week by U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee. The company has been in operation for over 61 years and is led by the third generation of the Geater family. Ranking Member Ernst praised the family’s dedication to providing high-quality products and supporting the next generation of high-tech leaders in Iowa.
Geater Machining and Manufacturing specializes in producing precision machines and fabricated parts for a variety of industries, including aerospace, electronics, and high-tech. The company was founded in 1962 by Duane Geater and has since grown while remaining rooted in Independence, Iowa. In addition to its commitment to quality products, Geater Machining and Manufacturing also gives back to the Buchanan County community through various outreach programs, such as an apprenticeship program, job shadowing opportunities, academic speakers, and more.
