The Seattle Fire Department received 911 calls last night at 8:54 p.m. reporting smoke coming from a two-story commercial building in the 8500 block of 14th Ave. S. in the South Park neighborhood. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the reports and quickly got water on the fire. However, when crews entered through the front door, they were met with heavy smoke that caused poor visibility.
Fortunately, firefighters found the seat of the fire near the rear of the first-floor and worked quickly to knock it down. By 9:24 p.m., the fire was under control, and investigators ruled it accidental, likely caused by faulty electrical equipment. Firefighters searched throughout the building and found no one inside with no injuries reported. The fire was extinguished by 9:42 p.m., leaving everyone safe and sound in South Park neighborhood
