Croatia’s 2-0 victory over Latvia in the European Championship qualifier in Riga brought them one step closer to qualifying for the tournament. The final determination will be made in their upcoming match against Armenia in Maksimir on June 16th.

Despite a few incidents during the game, Croatian fans showed their support with a positive spirit and great atmosphere. Unfortunately, a glass was thrown at Joško Guardiola during the first half, and two trash cans were thrown onto the field in the second half. As a result, special forces and police officers were called upon to ensure safety. Fortunately, no new incidents occurred at the stadium.

The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has been penalized for the behavior of their fans, resulting in 6,000 fewer seats for the upcoming match against Armenia, mostly to be filled by children. Despite this penalty, Croatia still has everything in their hands for qualification. A victory against Armenia would secure their spot in the tournament, while a draw would suffice as long as Wales and Turkey do not win their respective matches and Croatia goes to a playoff.
