Zrinjski, a football club in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has announced the appointment of Mario Ivanković as its new head coach. This comes after the club decided to part ways with Krunoslav Rendulić following a 3-0 loss to Velež in the Mostar derby. Despite leading the team to a double crown and securing a historic placement in the group stage of the Conference League last year, Rendulić’s recent performance led to his dismissal.
Ivanković, a 48-year-old coach, brings extensive experience in working with first teams. He has spent nearly six years with the same team and has also worked with the U17 and U19 national teams of BiH. Currently, he is part of the professional staff of the A national team of BiH. Zrinjski has stated that Ivanković will be supported by coaches from the previous coaching staff until further notice.
The duration of Ivanković’s tenure as Zrinjski’s head coach has not yet been disclosed, but he will be assisted by coaches from the previous staff as he takes on this new role.
