Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton to host a discussion on the intersection of science and faith

Stephen Lovett will be leading the discussion series titled “Science and Faith: Friends or Foes?” at Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton throughout the month of April. The church will be hosting these discussions on Sundays at 10 a.m.

The first topic of discussion, taking place on April 7, will be “How Do We Know What We Know?” exploring the scientific method and principles of biblical interpretation. Other topics that will be covered include “How Old is the World?”, “How and Why Were We Created?”, and “Can We Resolve the Debates?”. These discussions will be led by Stephen Lovett, a former math professor.

In addition to the discussion series, Gary United Methodist Church offers Sunday worship services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. The 9 a.m. service includes Kids’ Church and nursery care, as well as livestreaming and recorded worship on their website. The 11 a.m. service has a more casual atmosphere with church musicians.

Between the two services at 10 a.m., there is a coffee hour called “Special Blend” as well as Sunday school for all ages. With roots in the community dating back to 1853, Gary Church offers vibrant music, ministries for kids, youth, and adults, as well as opportunities for local, national, and global missions. For more information, visit their website at garychurch.org or contact the church office at office@garychurch.org.
