Footage from Captain America: Brave New World was revealed at Disney’s CinemaCon 2024 presentation, showing Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross asking Anthony Mackie’s Captain America to rebuild the Avengers. The clip started with President Thunderbolt Ross at the White House in Washington, D.C., portrayed by Ford with a new clean-shaven look due to losing the mustache for the election campaign. President Ross talks about the need for Captain America to reform the Avengers and references the recovery of a stolen item called the Millennium from a Japanese mining site.
During the footage, chaos erupts as a high-pitched sound triggers Isaiah Bradley and another agent to open fire, leading to a confrontation where even President Ross throws a punch. The inner circle is compromised, according to Captain America (Sam Wilson). The film, set for release on February 14, 2025, will explore the concept of what makes someone Captain America and delve into Wilson’s journey as the new Cap.
Liv Tyler will return as Betty Ross in the movie, reprising her role from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, and Tim Blake Nelson will also appear as the new Hulk villain, Samuel Sterns/The Leader. Additionally, CinemaCon 2024 featured footage from Gladiator 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, along with updates from the Warner Bros. presentation.
