Hundreds of middle and high school students in Palm Beach County Schools took part in the T. Leroy Jefferson 12th Annual Healthcare and Science Career Symposium held at Inlet Grove Community High School. The event aimed to expose students to professionals in the healthcare industry and hospitals. Dr. Emma Banks, founder of Inlet Grove High School, emphasized the importance of starting students out early and giving them exposure to various medical careers.
During the symposium, students learned about different career opportunities in the medical field from local healthcare professionals. They also had the opportunity to learn lifesaving procedures like CPR. Many students expressed interest in pursuing careers in healthcare and inquired about internships and volunteer opportunities following the event. This hands-on experience provided valuable insight into the healthcare industry and inspired students to consider future career paths in medicine.
