Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA, is looking for a dedicated individual to serve as the primary assistant coach for the men’s basketball team. This position is part-time but requires a significant time commitment. The ideal candidate must either reside in Boston or the surrounding area, or be willing to relocate.
As the primary assistant coach, responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all aspects of the program. This includes evaluating and recruiting potential student-athletes, managing practice and game video technology, organizing player development sessions, scouting opponents, overseeing team social media, monitoring academics, and more. Additionally, occasional game administration for Fall and Spring sports may be required.
Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree, strong organizational and communication skills, and be willing to relocate to Boston or the surrounding area. A personal vehicle and clean driving record are essential, as well as a willingness to undergo a background check. While coaching or recruiting experience is preferred, it is not required. CPR certification is also preferred but not mandatory.
The compensation for this position includes a stipend of $12,000 with the opportunity to earn additional income through camps, training, or other side jobs. Please note that this position does not include benefits, housing, a meal plan, or tuition assistance.
